so, last weekend was the 40th annual running of the Lone Pine Time Trials. And my 8th year(woot!). The Shitvic Si was down so I had a drive in a SL500 lined up. EEK!

I drove the cones up on friday and set up course. after 5 hours in 100+ temps I was ready for the party to begin. But I ended up working tech till 11pm. A couple of us got the bright idea to hit up the local bar(Jake's Saloon). And they kicked us out at 2am Sad

Saturday morning we got together for breakfast at 6am. Got out to the track by 7:30. And then the work was non stop. till 6pm. And that sweet SL500 I was supposed to drive.... yeah, no go. Couldn't sit in it with my helmet on. I was bummed. Anyway, back to town and cleaned up. Banquet dinner at 7pm along with Saturdays awards. By 8:30 we were back at Jake's, and got kicked out again at 2am.

Sunday I was up and at the track by 6:45. Got my truck tech'd so I could get at least 1 run this year. Made my runs in the am and proceeded to work the rest of the day. After we got everything loaded it was 4:30pm.

What a long fucking weekend. But I got to run my truck and got really drunk both friday and saturday nights. Lots of fun. Just wish I didn't have to work so hard, but there are very few people that will actually do setup and tear down.

Here is the video of my 2nd(and fastest run- I only took 2 runs). BTW, I had the owner of the SL500 beat in Raw time on our 2nd runs. On his 3rd run he beat my 2nd run my .980sec. I know I could have easily taken that much off, but I needed to save my tires.

the 41st Lone Pine Time Trials should be happening the weekend after Memorial Day in 2011. It's always either the weekend before or the weekend after. There are new people getting the arraingments done this next year and theey promise to have it all finalized earlier. But I believe it's planned for the weekend after. I'll be sure to make a post when I know for sure.
